Many of our teachers like to document whether or not a student has completed his homework. Currently, they have to add the homework check to their gradebook as an an assignment (out of 1) with a factor of 0. If the student has completed the work, they get a score of 1, if they have not done the work, they get a score of 0.
This process works, but it's tedious and a teacher who does frequent checks ends up with a very bloated gradebook.
It would be nice if there was an easy way to record these checks quickly (even with just a a flag or identifier).
Ben, thanks for the comment on this. The "Collected" indicator is never visible to students or their parents, but otherwise would be a great tool for this!
We recently introduce a Collected indicator, which seems like it could help serve the purpose of indicating completeness for an assignment.
