Allow staff to "send communication to" parents of students in Community Groups

We have a huge need for creating community groups so that we can email the parents of certain grade levels, etc. It takes a really long time to create the groups because we have to look up each child to find their parents' names and then add the parents to a community group. It would be SO much easier to add all the students and be able to "send communication to" parents from the roster.

The Smart Group query feature is confusing! I'm not sure what the current student classifications for students in Smart Lists are even! We just sent emails to students in all kinds of grades even though we selected "Parents of Students", Parental Access = Yes, Child Grade level = 7. Why did it go to certain upper classmen? Why did it go to families who have withdrawn or graduated?

Hi, Just wanted to share that you can set up community groups with smart groups so that the software automatically pulls in all 7th grade students or pulls in all parents of 7th grade students for example, so you don't have to do them one at a time. I agree having the option to send emails to just the student members in a community group and an option to send emails to just the parents of the student members in a community group, if the community group say just has 7th grade students in it. I think the process of adding community group members one at a time needs to be improved it should be just like an activity group where the manage roster button opens a mini window with a separate leader and member search box for adding members and leaders.
