Sometimes students are using technology in class and are distracted by the possibility of their grades on other assessments "committing" and becoming visible in the open gradebook (i.e., students who are supposed to be writing an essay who keep tabbing over to check if the science test grades are released yet). It would be awesome if teachers could grade work and update their gradebook without worrying that they are disrupting student work elsewhere in the building. So, it would be great if teachers could either control a release time for each assignment, or if schools could set a school-wide update time at which the gradebook students can see is updated each day.
Thanks for considering!
In our gradebook there ought to be something that flags assignments that are unpublished. As of now, you just have to remember this and which assignment. If there was a highlight on the assignment or on all the grades, then the teacher would not forget to publish it as some point.
