Currently, the submitted icon (blue envelope) shows up for quiz/assessment/discussion assignments IF and only if a file is associated with the assignment. Often times, these particular assignment types do not include submitted files (just multiple choice, true/false, etc) so teachers do not know a student has submitted answers for grading without checking each assignment. Teachers at our school would love to see the submitted icon when tests and quizzes are completed and turned in by the student.
