When creating and organizing topic folders, the available materials include Assignments, Audio, Downloads, Learning Tools, Links, Photos, Text, Videos, and Embed. However, while the "Text" material allows for adding text, it automatically displays it within the folder rather than creating a clickable link that opens in a separate page or sub-page. This limits organizational flexibility, as it forces users to either avoid adding text altogether—restricting folders to external links and downloads—or crowd the folder with visible text that could otherwise be hidden and accessed when needed.
Introducing a 'Page Material' option would greatly enhance the functionality of topic folders, making them a more effective tool for everyday instruction. This feature would allow text to be organized on separate pages within the folder, similar to how Canvas enables page creation in its LMS.
