I am thrilled that we can now present the cumulative grade, and an assignment grade based on a label (letter grade), but in the student gradebook, we were hoping that the % Grade would go away. We want a student to see a B and not a decimal approximation of that B. Those decimal approximations lead to conversations about a grade to a 1/10th or 1/100th of a point rather than the deeper broader conversations about what makes a B or a B+. We are trying to educate our students and parents in how to think broadly, and having a % Grade per assignment is hindering that ability and confusing students when we tell them they earned a letter grade.
