Students can no longer see assignments over the period which they are active. Instead, they have to choose between seeing assigned dates or due dates.

The binary choice means that all assignments look the same, whether they were one-day homework assignments or weeks-long projects. This is not appropriate for developing executive functioning skills in middle and high school students. Students need to be able to see assignments stretch over their calendars -- from assigned to due date.
