The "Attach from Google Drive" interface is very clunky, especially for teachers who have thousands of files. But, if they use that interface, it will automatically convert their files and upload. If they use the "attach file" option, navigate to their Google Drive folders and attach the same file, they get an error as it doesn't accept the file type. Can the same conversion be done with that upload option?
