Import text content from prior year's Bulletin Board

I would like to request that Text be an Import option for content on Bulletin Board.

We are typically using this area for Description or Welcome message and it stays the same from year to year (or similar) - just think it would be easier to have the option like we do with other content typed on the bulletin board.

    Hi Everyone!

    I am so very happy to report that after tomorrow's release (2/7/18) Teachers/Group Owners will now be able to import Text from other Bulletin Boards!

    This is our top vote getter for onCampus in the idea forum. We appreciate your patience as we worked through an annoying technical hurdle that prevented us from offering this content type in Bulletin Board import from the beginning. Please note: Any existing text on the Bulletin Board will be overwritten by the text being imported.

    Hoping this is still under consideration!  Many teachers use this option do describe their course and either have to recreate it every year or go through the painful process of finding last year's and copying the contents.  Thanks for considering!

    Why not allow the entire layout to be imported? Or does it come across? We alter the channel titles and it would/will be a shame to loose all of this formatting which we want to continue from year to year. Bring everything except expired items!

    This is really a critical area. We need ALL widgets to be able to import to different classes, especially the text box.  We want teachers to get inspired on putting material out there for their students and we are limiting their options by not allowing them major time saving steps to achieve their goals.....

    This is absolutely unacceptable that you can't import BASIC text yet you can import more complex items like announcements and news... Fix this PLEASE.

    Currently you can import the following types:

    • Announcement
    • Expectation
    • Grading Rubric
    • Links
    • News
    • Syllabus

    I'll have to look into why Text was left out, but am sure it is because that type is stored differently than the others.

    I definitely agree it would be helpful to have Text be included. Not sure how hard it would be to pull off, so stay tuned. Thanks!

    I thought you had this available in prior version, because it's crazy to leave one widget out of being able to share and save for the next year.
