Michael, Is there a way to access past activation options? I didn't activate this parent feature yet, but the only feature I see under "Activate New Features" is the new Assignment Center change, which I've done. Is there an archive?
With this latest release, we are now allowing schools to opt into a new Assignment Center experience for students and parents. This Idea has been implemented as part of that new set of features. If your school is interested in learning more about activating this feature in your database, a Platform Manager will need to go to Core > Settings > Activate new features. From there, you can find some enablement materials to better inform yourself on the changes. When your school is ready, the feature can be activated on that new Activate new features page.
For this particular feature, parents will be able to see both the status of an assignment and be able to filter for the 'marked as' designations teachers can mark on an assignment (Missing, Incomplete, etc.).
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
Hi all! Ben from the LMS team here. We are considering this idea, and more broadly, we would like to better understand the experience of students' families in the LMS: what's working, what's unclear, and what could be improved. If you are interested in connecting, or know family members who would be willing to connect with us, please send me an email: ben.leddy@blackbaud.com. Thank you!
We would love to have this feature available to parents as well. A nice addition for students but maybe parents only have ability to see status and not change it.
We agree with Cheryl; our parents have expressed need to be able to view the list of "Missing Assignments" on the Assignment Center. This will allow parents to help their students develop good study skills and time management skills. This would keep them better apprised of their student's current performance.
Our teachers and advisors would love that red "missing assignments" button that the students and Advisors have at their finger tips instead of having to drill down for this information.
Wait...I think this is part of the Assignment Center update, so, you know, ignore me.

It might also be nice for faculty to view the assignment as a student. This nuance seems negligable but can be helpful in some cases.
We would like to implement this as part of a competency based education practice at our school

A great tool for collaborative discussion between parents, students and academic providers! Thumbs up for that suggestion.
What Jessi said!
