Ability to Set the Default Assignment Filter Setting to a Date Range

We would like to set the default assignment setting to a date range rather than active. This would benefit out teachers work flow as they can see all assignments from a specific range rather than having to click into it and then set it each time.

    Or at LEAST don't default assignments to those "Due Today," which I believe is the least useful option of all of them. So many teachers request help because they think they've lost assignments.

    This would be very good, but in addition it would be nice to have a "Display All" option with an available date range so that students do not get confused looking for assignments that have expired.  Many students, when they do find "Previous" don't realize they need to scroll to get their homework.
