Allow teachers to upload from Google Drive directly.

The student's ability to attach files from Google Drive and then convert them is amazing. We would love if teachers could also use this integration to attach items to their topics and assignments. Eventually even the resource board.

Ben et al: Looks like you folks were working on this a year ago. Any movement? This is mission critical to the efficacy of this LMS. Thanks, DK

Hi all! We are exploring the extension of Google Drive functionality and would love your feedback. If you're up for connecting over a video chat, please reach out to at ben.leddy@blackbaud.com. Thank you!

@Megan I don't know if it is funny or sad that we have been trying to clarify the functionality we are looking for since 2016.

I want to clarify HOW this isn't implemented. Currently, a teacher can choose to add a file from their Google Drive to their Bulletin Board and Topics pages but they can't add Google Drive files to assignments. In addition, when a teacher chooses to add a Google Doc, it makes them convert it to another file type (PDF, Word Doc, etc.). It makes the connection to Google Drive almost useless. Our teachers currently have to share the Google Doc, copy the shared link, and add the Google Doc as a link. They have to do this every time they add a Google file to their resource boards, topics pages, and assignments. Lots of silly steps.

    Still not implemented.....

This has not been implemented. Teachers are able to use it for bulletin boards and students can use it to submit files, but teachers are unable to use it when creating assignments.

Whoever marked this as implemented clearly doesn't know what they're talking about. Someone at Blackbaud need to review this!

Our teachers really need to be able to create assignments using Google Drive docs/files. It seems very odd to me that this half of things is missing.

This is absolutely not implemented!!! This integration was one of the big reasons we agreed to cut over to the new product line early, and it's clearly not done yet. We are a google school. We use Classroom and Drive extensively and it works great. I really need it to integrate with OnCampus anywhere you need to add access to a file. Automated embedding of files should be built in as well.

I'm not sure why this is marked as implemented; it should say partially implemented or minimally implemented. Teachers can only get to their Google Drive through the Syllabus and Expectations blocks. There is still ALOT missing. I hope there is a plan to fully implement this feature.

This needs better implementation. Currently, teachers are able to select a file from their Google Drive for the syllabus, grading rubrics, and expectations blocks on the Bulletin Boards. When the teacher selects the file, if it is a Google Doc, it is converted (by default to PDF) and then students/parents have to download the PDF file. Ideally, a teacher should be able to select a Google doc and the original Google Doc should be linked. This would mean that when a teacher updates the Google Doc, the updated Google Doc is accessible from this link. This ability should be available everywhere in onCampus as well (all areas of bulletin board, topics, assignments, group bulletin boards and pages, attached to calendar events, etc. ).

This was not implemented at all!!!! The new release today only allows for teachers to upload from drive on bulletin boards- specifically 4 areas. They still can not use it to attach downloads, they can not use it in their topics and they can not use it in their assignments. This items should NOT be marked implemented. This is so disappointing.

I really wish I could vote for this 1,000 times. This feature is so important. Glad to see it is planned. I hope that its introduction is soon though.
