We have certain people at the school that need to look up a teacher's roster for a particular course.  The natural thing for them to do is to go to the directory and look up that teacher, view their schedule and they can see their courses.  Unfortunately the only types of groups they can click on in their schedule is the Athletic Teams.  Everything else is blacked out. 

Digging deeper into Group Page Access Options, Schedule is not an option for Academics, Advisory, or Activity.  If it was, then I think the links to the group pages would work.

The work around is having that person "Browse Groups", which is much more cumbersome because you need to know specifically what you're looking for out of hundreds of groups.  More natural to just look up the teacher and select the class you want.
