When importing assignments allow the sort order to be by date instead of alphabetically.
When a teacher want to import an assignment, they are listed alphabetically. Since they are using them in the same order that they did the previous semester, it would be more beneficial to sort the assignments by the date that they were assigned.

Hi all, would you then expect the original dates to be prepopulated in the second screen where the publishing options show? obviously the dates would be in the past so they would need to be updated anyway for the new dates manually but is it helpful in that second screen to carry the dates over as well?
Please return this feature as it is critical to faculty who want to sort by date and just import assignments by unit.
The new import ability no longer has the date included on the first screen where you select the assignments to import. A lot of teachers will import assignments in blocks (import for the upcoming unit and then import the unit after that later).
Yes! Even if the new dates won't be exactly the same as the old dates, they can (should) still be listed in the order they were originally assigned....
