@Angela Addison Thank you for doing the investigation. We did not have the field enabled there. However, we would definitely prefer to use the logic you are rolling out soon. Good to know it's on the way!

@Matthew Poirier ok I don't want to beat a dead horse but I did do some more investigating. I see preferred name/nickname available as optional fields in faculty staff directory, curriculum detail faculty details and affinity content on the school website side. We do have plans to put conditional logic in everywhere so that if you do opt to include preferred name it will display else first name, but currently you do have the option for including both first and preferred name. Do you have those settings selected in your school website and they are not working? If so I would just ask that you put it in as a bug and we can get it looked at, if you don't have them selected and need help with that you can also contact support or your website implementation contact. If the root of the issue here is that we don't currently have the logic in place to show nickname if present else first name that's coming soon! Thanks for your patience.

On our internal directory, this works. However, on the directory on our front facing website, it shows first name and last name by default, and there are no options to change this. We have several teachers that go by their middle name, so we would have to edit their first name field, which makes their data incorrect.

Hi there, when I just tested adding preferred/nickname to the display for faculty and staff directory I see the preferred name displayed instead of the first name. Can you clarify the problem area(s) and I can have someone look into this? Thanks much.

We just switched to Blackbaud, and this feature is important for us to display the employee's preferred name on our website directory.
