Could we make the language for the the additional attendees field less confusing?

When we limit our event registration forms to a certain amount of attendees, the additional attendees filed will be present on our form. While this filed is supposed to be for an extra number of attendees, many parents will put in a 1 when they should be entering 0, as they only have one attendee on zero extras. 

This is due to the language the field uses is somewhat confusing, so we would like to have language that is more clear, as to not confuse our parents. Either that or be able to disable this field, or make it not required.
