Ability to crop and rotate photos after uploaded

I would like the ability to upload images (from PC, Mac, iPad, etc.) and once uploaded to the system, be able to crop and change the orientation for the image.

We have had some issues uploading images to the system coming in upside-down so if we had this tool we could rotate it into place through the system and save a lot of time.

The day has come. Photo Management is available for School Website (Core > Content > Media > Photos) and for the LMS. We will be adding to other content types in an upcoming release.

We are going to start with the action of loading new images and see what options we have there.  We would love feedback on if the need to crop/rotate images that have already been saved is something that would be desired and any other feedback/expectations in that area that you have.

We would really like to see this happen!

We use a tinymce in some areas of the product that could potentially be leveraged here.  We definitely won't build something from scratch for this.  I have this queued up behind a few other priorities and I going to see how the second half of the year shakes out.  This is definitely our top voted item so it isn't getting lost in the crowd.

There are several open-source, pre-built, browser-based, client-side image editors, like this one: https://github.com/viliusle/miniPaint

Could something like this be used to expedite development on this?

I think there is definitely still some work to do on this item.  We implemented some functions to manipulate photos but it really doesn't seem to satisfy the full idea request.  I am going to put this back into an "Under Consideration" status and see what we can figure out later this year.

Hey - isn't this now implemented?

It's extremely frustrating that such a simple feature request takes over 2 years to fix. It does not inspire confidence that more complex requests will ever be fulfilled.

We don't have an exact release date yet, but this is on our roadmap for the second half of 2017.

According to the release notes next weeks update should include some level of rotate fix. It doesn't totally cover this request but a big part of it.

Let's make this this happen! It's starting to be increasingly more time consuming to upload photos, that have to be yet reoriented to fix them for PushPage issues.

Is there a projected date for implementation of this issue?

Also I don't want to just rotate them after but respect the rotation upon upload so editing isn't needed.

This is only onMessage and actually I would say is arguably more important for onCampus.

This is becoming a deal breaker for my faculty. They don't have time to process images before uploading. It is my number one support request and it is getting to be a very very sore spot. Is there any information that you (BB) can give us?
