The recurring gift option reads like a multiplier (like you’re making the gift again and again as opposed to making payments on a pledge) and what we have are folks who have a total gift in mind-- which they pledge-- but like to spread out their payments most often on a monthly basis—they are more likely to choose “pledge payment” as the gift type and then be very frustrated that they can’t set up a recurring payment. On our old website the language for the recurring payment option was “I would like to make my gift in installments” and then they would fill in the amount to recur, the frequency, and start and end date. I would prefer to have the recurring option for both gifts and pledge payments (or if for some reason it can only be for one type, then the pledge payment type).
