We have a handful of students who are 8th graders taking 9th grade courses. For us, 8th grade is Middle School and 9th is Upper School. It makes sense that they wouldn't be able to choose the 9th grade classes for themselves (we have to add them as advisors), but once they are chosen, they should be visible to the students. That way they can know they've actually requested the classes.
