Summary of Year-long Student Attendance for Indiana Dept of Education Reporting

Concordia Lutheran HS (Ft Wayne, Indiana) takes attendance by period - which produces the pile of data in the OnCampus system. Our daily schedule rotates with either 4 of 8 class periods meeting on a "Block Day", or all 8 class periods meeting "Rat Race). This calendar schedule is loaded into the OnCampus calendar and used by students to see what "day" we are using on any given date. Needed Information for our Indiana Department of Education end-of-school-year attendance report is:

School Number
Student Test Number (STN)
Beginning Date
Ending Date
# of Days Attended
# of Excused Days Absence
# of Unexcused Days Absence
Grade level

- If a student misses 2 or 3 class periods of 4 on a "block day" - then that would be a "Half-Day" absence
- A Student missing all 4 classes on a "block day" = full-day absence.
- A similar % of attendance could be used when all 8 class periods meet on "rat race" days.

Concordia has this information is in the system - just a matter of creating a script to calculate the date/periods attended / periods meeting for every school day to calculate the attendance rates (%) we need for the Indiana Dept of Education reports.
