It would be most helpful if the attendance count on the conduct screen was either labeled UNEXCUSED ATTENDANCE or it also had a column for Excused Absences. State law that governs the awarding of credit mandates a specific amount of seat time to earn credit in a course - whether the absences are excused or unexcused. Accordingly, we have attendance rules set up to keep track of of total absences as well as just unexcused absences. This is very helpful to help us keep track, however, when I want to check the total number of absences in a class, the grid lacks an excused absence count.
