Currently we have a legal dilemma where the permission to treat checkbox is sometimes purposely left unchecked by parents (indicating their desire to not have their child treated which we don't want them to be able to choose and likely wouldn't be checked in an emergency) or accidentally left unchecked (which if checked during an emergency could result in a child not being treated when they should be). As a school in Canada with public health care, we have a responsibility to take care of the children that are sent to our school. This checkbox shouldn't exist for us but we can't remove it. There are other checkboxes and options that are similarly US centric and we would remove if we could.
