This feature is the only reason our school is still using the old transcript builder. Not having credit accumulation/transcript categories at the bottom is a critical piece of information missing for our counseling team :/
Credit accumulation by category is important to the upper school and college counseling and its ability to be shown on the transcript. We use it on the old transcript setup. It should not be a running total like the new transcript credit block does.
We allow a few courses to be counted in categories other than the one for which they are marked in the system. Could there be a way to manually change the category under which a credit falls for individual students? Computer Science is an example where some students may take it as a world language or as an elective.
Please Include the "Transcript Categories" for credit Accumulation to the New Transcript Builder. Schools need something more simple than the diploma feature.
Please add transcript categories/credit accumulation tally to the new transcript. This was on our transcripts with our old SIS (a VERY old program dating back to the 80's). We were disappointed to learn that we had taken a step backward with the implementation of Blackbaud.
Jacqueline - so far I like the new feature but where we are getting stuck is if students can choose which transcript category an elective will fall under. For example, Dance at my school can count as Fine Arts or PE, I would love to allow the registrar to be able to mark for the student to see. Two things I also noticed are: 1) there is no way to bulk assign a diploma to all students (unless I am just missing it) and 2) once you assign a diploma to a student, any future updates do not show up for any students already assigned a diploma. I would love to discuss more if you have time next week.
Hello all! We recently released Diploma requirements for the SIS. Based on the comments on this idea, it sounds like that should solve what some of you were using the Transcript Categories setting on the previous builder for.
For those of you that would still have a need to report out the students accumulation of credits for specific categories on the transcript itself even with the option to track progress towards graduation separately, I would love to learn more to determine what options we could explore with the new builder.
I totally agree with Inger and Rob. The inability to do in-house credit tracking and reporting to colleges makes this unusable for us since many of the universities we often send to require the breakdown. I have spent a ton of time creating the new transcript and to find this out now is a total deal breaker. Extremely disappointing.
Additionally, please let schools elect to sort by Transcript Category FIRST, so that they can do a quick and easy credit count. Currently, the default setting is 'by year' first, and makes this impossible.
The previous transcript builder included the functionality to total credits per transcript category. Currently, counselors or colleges must look at each and every course title to decide if the student has completed the requisite number of credits for English, Math, Science, etc. For example, it is difficult to tell if a Forensics class is a Science credit (think CSI) or an English credit (debate).
We are limited to the "old" transcript until this issue is implemented in the "new" transcript builder.

Yes, PLEASE add transcript categories back in - we need this to show we've met the state graduation requirements

This is necessary for graduation requirements and without it, the process is tedious and cumbersome.
Agreed. Currently the only piece missing from our transcripts that is crucial.
I agree with all the below comments. This is a huge missing piece for us on our transcripts.

I totally agree. This is a show stopper for us to move to the "new" transcript builder. Most schools report it this way.
