MD State Department of Education expects us to report on absences by quarter, not just cumulative absences.
We are set up as full term with assessment grading periods. This set up largely works for us, as courses run the full year. On the new report card builder, I am able to set grades to display by "assessment grading period," e.g., Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4. But I can not correlate attendance to the same assessment periods. Attendance only allows me to count total records for the full term, not associated with the grading period.
This feels like a flaw to me, especially because we have legal requirements that we need to abide by. We have come up with a manual labor-intensive work-around using Official Notes, which can be pulled in to the report card to meet the legal requirement. Please fix this. The work-around is time-consuming and prone to human error.
