Some schedulers prefer to run the master schedule and student schedule fairly early in the year. If they do this, notes and request status become invisible to students and advisers through the course request portal. If those were still visible "pending" decisions post-master schedule could be communicated through the request portal in real time making for a larger array of scheduling styles and work flows.
