Our parents are being given the option to send their children to campus for classes or keep them home to login to class virtually. The administrators though would like to know who is in the classroom in person and who is logging in from home. Thus, we would like to have two different reasons/options for attending class in the attendance setup. Right now, there is just one choice for the present/attended class category.
With the 9/1/2020 release, a new attendance type has been added to the system. Attendance codes can now be assigned as Absence, Tardy, or Virtual.
Codes assigned the Virtual type will not be considered in any absence or tardy counts throughout the system.
Where are we with being able to add "Present" options to Attendance? I know this was updated as a stop-gap for schools, but is still a work around. The "Virtual Present" options we are all using fall under the Absent Category, which is not a long term fix.
Thanks - 3/9/2021
Hi All
This doesn't actually fix the initial request in this ticket. We are looking for two types of ATTENDED codes. One that is ATTENDED and one that is ATTENDED - AT HOME. These fall under the ATTENDED CLASS category where currently there is just the one reason - ATTENDED CLASS. We need at least 2 reasons
They added a new option yesterday see the release notes.
Yes, please! For example, we would like to have "Present in class" and "Present online" both as 'present' attendance types. Right now, I've had to set up "Present online" as an excused absence as a workaround...
Great Idea! It would be helpful for generating reports.
Great idea...the more precise the information the better. Do it!
