Translate Score on Input - "Bug Fix" Shows MAXIMUM of Grade Translation instead of Student's actual Calculated Grade on the report card

Grade Translations > "Translate Score on Input"

Checking this box and wanting to display the "Letter Grades (Numeric grade) A(95.33)" format on the design of the report card will NOT work. Meaning, the student has a calculated grade of 91.23% on the Grading tab, yet the report card shows the MAXIMUM of the grade translation of 93.49. (see attached file)

Grade Label.... Minimum.... Maximum

A .................. 93.5 .......... 101

A- ................... 89.5 .......... 93.49

B+ .................. 86.5 ........... 89.49

This makes no sense. No school would ever want to display anything other than the true calculated grade. I don't understand what value displaying the MAXIMUM of the grade translation on a report card would be to a school or parent. (This is why I added the term "Bug Fix" to the title.)

From KB Article:

If the grade category tied to the course grade is set to translate score on input, the system will translate the letter grade to be the numeric equivalent. If the grade translation doesn't have a numeric equivalent, it will translate the grade to be the maximum value.

However, in our example, our student has a calculated score of 91.23 which does have a numeric equivalent of being an A-. And yes, an A- does show up on the student's report card. If we only cared about displaying the Letter Grade, then this works.

However, we want to display both the Letter Grade and the true calculated numeric grade.

Bottom line: The true calculated numeric grade should be displayed on the report card whether this box is checked or not.

    This is incredibly valuable.

I would agree this needs to be corrected. Also, because the translation of scores on input and output have such a huge impact on grading (once grades are in & cannot be changed) it would be nice to have an explanation of exactly what those selections do to the grades right next to them when you are going to select them. That way when schools/staff who are brand new to setting up a whole grading system encounter a selection of this importance they are made aware of what the selection means and what it affects.
