Please enable the Record Attendance system when confronted by overlapping Attendance Reason times to keep the first Attendance Reason that is outside of the second Attendance Reason time frame. For example if the attendance manager on 12/13/20 pre records the student John Doe with the pre recorded attendance reason of "Working Remotely Today Present in the Building" for 12/14/20 from 7:30am to 3:00 PM (Since John Doe is suppose to be working from his home but is instead working "remotely" in the school building in the Library for extra help). Then on 12/14/2020 John Doe is late to school and comes in at 10am, the attendance officer then records attendance for John Doe with the attendance reason of "Late unexcused" for 12/14/20 from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Because the attendance reason the attendance officer entered overlaps the initial all day reason, the initial attendance reason "Working Remotely Today Present in the Building" is completely deleted from 7:30am to 3:00pm, leaving only Late Unexcused from 7:30am to 10:00am. This needs to be fixed so that Attendance system is smart enough and programmed so that in this example when the attendance officer enters the "Late Unexcused" attendance reason from 7:30am to 10:00am the system deletes the "Working remotely Present in the Building" is deleted from 7:30am to 10:00am, BUT the system keeps the "Working Remotely Present in the Building" attendance reason from 10:14 am (the start of our 4th period) to 3:00pm. The Attendance system needs to be fixed to not just delete the previous attendance reason if it has an overlapping time frame with the new attendance reason being entered. The Attendance system needs to fixed to keep the portion or portions of a pre existing attendance reason that do not conflict with a new attendance reason being entered. For ex2 if a student Bill Smith has a pre recorded attendance reason of "working Remotely Today Present in the Building" for 1/5/20 from 7:30am to 3:00pm, then a second attendance reason for Bill Smith of "Absent Dr Appointment" for 1/5/20 from 11:00am to 12:30pm. The fixed attendance system would be smart enough to automatically keep "working remotely today Present in the Building" for 1/5/20 from 7:30am to 10:59am, "Absent Dr Appointment" for 1/5/20 from 11:00am to 12:30pm, and "working remotely present in the building" for 1/5/20 from 12:31pm to 3:00pm.
