Role with View Only Access to Teacher Gradebooks
Our school limits the number of people who have the grade book and academic group manager roles for the pure reason that those roles have the ability to enter/change grades for a teacher's class. The grade book manager needs that ability, but then that limits who we would assign the role. The academic group manager can change grades when in the assignment center for a class.
It would be wonderful to have a version of those roles where they can only view the gradebook / assignment grades without being able to edit those gradebooks or grades.
I would like to give view only access to our Academic Dean to be able to view all grade books and assignments. I would also like to give our Department Chairs view only access to their department's gradebooks and assignments.

We need this for our department chairs. Giving them Gradebook Manager access is not a good solution.

Yes please! Gradebook View Only access is a high priority for our upper school department chairs.
Part of the role of a department chair is to help develop teachers. Being able to give department chairs and even our division head read only access would be invaluable to teaching the teacher. Without have to worry that someone might mess up someones gradebook unintentionally.

Yes, we have department coordinators who would also benefit from this. Right now, we have to give them more access than they need only to allow them to see the information and to export the reports to Excel format.
We want our department chairs to be able to check their department's gradebooks to ensure that all sections of the same class have their gradebooks set up the same way. But right now the only way for us to give them access to see the gradebooks also gives them full editing privileges, which they don't want, and we don't want them to have!
one step further. the roles that can be assigned need to filtered more. Like anyone with Platfrom manager role can impersonate. That should be more limited.
