Special Denotation on Extra Credit Assignments

Given how extra credit assignments must be done in the grade book, it would be helpful if a default comment would auto-populate or something in the system would denote that this particular assignment is counting as extra credit. That way when a parent or student sees 5/100 they can better understand that it was 5 bonus points and not a poor performance on an assessment. Currently the only way is applying a comment manually.

    Hi Folks -

    With the new Assignment experience that is currently in an opt-in period, this function is available. In the new assignment center, we are now showing students when an assignment is marked as extra credit. Likewise, on the assignment page itself, students will see a blue icon signifying the assignment is extra credit to the right of the assignment name.

    Hey Folks -

    This is something that we're looking at now. The scenario you described is something we have heard from a number of schools, so we're looking into how we can make sure that teachers, parents, and students can see that an assignment is marked as extra credit in a more conspicuous way.
