Export Reports as .xlsx files instead of .xls

Currently, Export Data to Excel exports as an .xls file, which newer versions of Excel can't save (you have to Save As an .xlsx file). Please update this!

    Our teachers are also running into an issue with .xls files. Windows 11's trust center will not open Excel 1997-2004 files. Please give us the ability to change this format to .xlsx. This is bad that this has been requested almost 2 years ago and it is still a problem. Makes it seem like there is not a commitment to improving the software.

    Agreed. Why is Blackbaud creating Microsoft file types that Microsoft has deprecated? .DOC and .XSL shouldn't be opened or utilized; many environments block those files types from opening due to default recommendations from MIcrosoft. i.e. we can not open .DOC files or .XSL files at all.

    Not best practice.
