File upload - replace option

We have uploaded several PDF documents to share on various resource boards for our students, parents and teachers. Unless I'm mistaken, the files we upload under Content > Additional content types can only be uploaded or deleted; this means if there is a change to the document we have to delete the old file, upload a new file, and then go out to all the resource boards and replace the file link. This is very time consuming and it would be great for there to be a way to REPLACE the file but maintain the file link. Thank you for considering.

    This is currently possible (if you're specifically to Additional Content Types -> Downloads) - you can open up the particular additional content type -> downloads -> categories -> file page, click the red x icon next to the filename, and then upload the new version of the file. The original link will be maintained so there's no need to go through change it everywhere. Really helpful feature.
