We allow our parents to update their emails on their contact cards. Please allow us to add custom text to this window, similarly to how we can add custom text to the emergency contact update window.
REASON:
Without fail, every time a parent updates their email address, they assume it updates their username, which is not a wild assumption to make. They are upset when they can no longer login because they are entering their new email as their username.
I would like to add text explaining that updating their email address does not in fact update their username. I would love to be able to link the instructions for how they can update their username.
While this may seem like a once in a blue moon issue - our parents are constantly updating their emails.
Yes!!! We need custom text on the contact card for this and other fields (or even just at the top of the page)! I'd love to have the ability to have a school email contact there that parents could use when they have questions. We have a lot of parents who have complex address situations (such as state department families). Each situation is unique and it requires staff support to ensure it is set up correctly.
Parents continue to add CC emails thinking this will update their primary email. Please let us add custom text to this section so they know who to contact to update their primary email.
It would also be helpful to be able to add custom text to all areas that parents can update on their contact card. We have parents deleting their phone numbers and addresses because they think that's the only way to hide it from the directory. We want parents to be able to edit their own stuff, so taking away their editing privileges is not the answer. Please let us add custom text to all these editable fields.
It would be great for both Parents and Staff. To bring awareness how this "simple" change has a large impact.
