I am hoping to have a feature for students that can specify any course scheduling restrictions that should be considered by the system when generating the master schedule. The woman who creates our Upper School schedule has an external list of students who have certain scheduling restrictions such as: Don’t put in Mr. Smith’s class ever, Don’t put Sally and Tommy in any of the same sections, Keep the triplets in the same advisory group, etc. She has to make sure these special cases are all followed when generating the schedule and then she reworks it to fit accordingly.

I know that in CORE for faculty, there is a tab called “Schedule” where you can add in availability restrictions based on block, school level, etc. And all the teacher availability restrictions are taken into consideration when the system generates the schedule. A similar feature for students could be beneficial where you could search through the current student and teacher lists and if there’s a person of conflict you can add them to the student’s schedule settings card and specify “avoid” or “keep together” something like that.
