Data Retention to Protect Privacy and Organization's Liabilty

Thinking about managing student data in our K12 Blackbaud systems (Core, SIS, LMS) and the need for better tools for handling information once students move on.

Specifically, we could significantly benefit from features allowing us to redact or remove data like medical records, past contacts, prior addresses, and archived learning plans, Conduct, etc. when they're no longer active in K12.

Given that necessary alumni information transitions to Raiser's Edge for advancement, any redaction or removal options in the K12 suite should account for this data flow. Offering this functionality would not only help us minimize risk now but also proactively position us for anticipated stricter privacy regulations requiring this type of data management.

The ability to set parameters for bulk redaction or removal based on graduation dates after a certain amount of time or other criteria would streamline our processes and enhance data privacy and liability.

Has anyone else considered this or have already collectively brought this to Blackbaud's attention?
