We were very excited to see the ability for parents to submit attendance. However, we are troubled by the fact that as soon as the parent submits the attendance it becomes part of the official record. I realize that the submittal is vieawable under "Needs attention", but the only option is "Acknowledge" We suggest that this be more of a holding bin, allowing the attendance secretary to decide which changes should be committed.

For example, if we record a student's attendance on 2/26 as Tardy for the first class and attended class for the rest of the day and the parent enters a "Absent All Day", it will wipe out the items we recorded immediately for all viewers except the attendance secretary. If parents submit multiple entries for a single day, the original entries may not even be visible. This is the school's official record of attendance, and parents should NOT be able to manipulate it, whether well intentioned or not.
