There isn't a way in the Student's List to select a random set of students. You recently added the functionality in the print report cards area to Select students based on Specific Students. Please add this to Student's List. We have cases where we need to run and save lists on students that may not have anything in common and there is no way to save these lists without setting and and entering an admin custom field.
