Currently the "Allergic to" dropdown is generated by the school.  Creating this list is a daunting task and creates a very long drop down that will never include all the different types of allergies a student may have.  Giving the parent the ability to fill in the blank instead solves this issue.  Parents can then type exactly what the student is allergic to.  Giving the staff a much better idea on what to watch out for.
