Right now if a student has already made course requests and a teacher attempts to recommend a course they have put in a request for the system just does nothing. The recommended course is not added for the student. Would be very helpful to have an alert for the teacher that this is the case.
I would also strongly suggest that a teacher be able to recommend a course, whether or not a student had previously requested it. For teachers who miss the deadline on entering course requests (and this WILL happen!), it is still important to capture the note that the request was (eventually) recommended by the appropriate teacher.
It would be helpful for teachers to either:
1. Be able to recommend regardless of whether or not a student has requested the course.
2. Be able to see the course the student requested.
This is the first year we are using the course requests. It is very misleading to those teachers who experience this issue. The teacher believes the system is broken and not allowing them to make a recommendation. Please have some sort of notification to let teachers know what is happening.
