In Core > Settings > Profile > Profile Publish Access, you can choose to publish relationships for the directory, but you cannot specify anywhere which relationships to publish. 

In our Family Directory, we would like to be able to only show relationships of current parents and current students. Currently the relationships include past candidates, candidates, past students, and alumni.
