It would be great if that as a part of User Management settings if there were a way to auto format phone numbers and other data.
In the applicable settings allow us to set one of the following:
This way no matter how the phone number is entered in the system it is displayed in the desired format.
Addresses would be big as well - for example wanting St. and Dr. in place of Street and Drive for addresses.
Just give us ways of automating the standardization of data so it's not all manual or data refreshes!
Why has this not yet been implemented (first request in 2017????). This has got to be the easiest fix for your tech team? Almost every single place you go online has the formatting for phone numbers. This takes up so much time to reformat every time we do an import of new families and it just looks sloppy.
PLEASE IMPLEMENT THIS. A colleague who uses Raiser's Edge says that that program auto formats these fields. The data being imported and exported should be in a standardized format.
And make it so the BBTM can handle phone numbers that actually follow international phone numbers. If there is a phone number with more than 10 digits in BBEM, BBTM will take the first 10 characters.
So important!! Please allow us to select how our phone numbers and addresses should format and then have them auto format! I don't understand why RE NXT can do this, but the education side cannot.
How is it possible that this simple thing that every other website in the free world has in place hasn't been added to this product in 6 years? Ridiculous fail on the product management team.
Cannot believe this has yet to be implemented still! Seems like an easy fix. Don't inquiry forms already have this in place? Why not application forms?
This is also needed for postal code formatting on Application forms - currently doesn't allow for spaces when filling it in, presumably because it's based on ZIP code formatting. We're a Canadian school, 90% of our addresses need this formatting - has to be corrected on contact cards afterwards.
Suggested since 2017, 137 votes - is BB ever going to get around to this or at least explain why it's not been implemented?
Yes, please. Schools should be able to choose the formatting type used throughout the site.
Bring this system up to Raiser's Edge standards please!
Yes, please!
Phone numbers are easily formatted.
Names need leading, trailing, and extra spaces removed.
Proper capitalization needs to be enforced.
All addresses need to be checked and verified against the postal database, including the extra 4 on zip codes.
Love this we also use
xxx.xxx.xxxx
Please implement this - for ease of use by our admin staff when pulling lists for mailings, etc, we need a consistent format for everything (not just phone numbers - street name abbreviations, etc)
Yes please! As I am AGAIN cleaning up/re-cleaning up phone numbers from our Summer Forms process! Very frustrating and time consuming
This really needs to be implemented. Once again a feature that EE had and On doesn't. This is data management 101!
Surprised this wasn't a functionality right from the get go! It is beyond frustrating trying to fix up addresses when parents enter upper lowercase where they shouldn't be, don't format postal code properly etc. I was recently told at the BBcon conference to just disable parents from changing this information... ISN'T THIS THE POINT OF HAVING THIS CAPABILITY so that the customer/constituent can easily make changes. Also along with what Geoffery said, this syncs to RE so have to constantly update in CORE so that RE in correct. Would be nice for everything to just come over seamlessly and have the auto formatting!
Agree that we spend many hours fixing the formatting of data entered by parent. Unfortunately, with ConnectRE, any formatting errors also immediately make their way into RE as well.
why is this still an issue. Obviously the admins or database people don't work in the schools or else they would understand the value of this. This is a simple idea and not a difficult one to fix for coder. why is this getting ignored. who do we need to send this to before its fixed. We have a similar idea that has 300 votes and its still not fixed. DO YOU ALL HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FRUSTRATING THIS IS TO FIX WITH 900+ students?????
Hi Gregg,
I'm going to leave the ideas separate as the other one is specifically for onBoard/inquiry forms. But I'm glad you referenced it here so we can address them together. Unfortunately I don't have a timeframe yet.

The ideas should be merged.
