Hello. Please expedite the capability for rearranging Race type sort order. The Ethnicity fields (which we no longer use) has this preferred capability. We prefer "Other" to be listed last on our admission application. Not having this options impacts the visual flow making it appear the arrangement was an oversight. Thank you!!
Hey Folks, I want to confirm that my team is updating the contact card>Citizenship/Resident Tile to display race types in alphabetical order as well as in the modal to add those race types. In addition, in Core>Users>User Profile Settings>Race Types the races will be listed in alpha order. We are also looking for other areas that show race type for future work. I will pass on the issue to the Enrollment Management team for adjusting the way races display in the Race Block in Applications as well. Please let me know of other areas that need adjustment. I will add a decline to answer option as the last option in the future work as well. Hope this helps!
I accidentally discoverd if you open each race as if you're going to edit them, then save, it will automatically fix the whole non-alphebetized issue. Even "other" goes to the bottom. Not sure what's up with that, but it totally works and fixes that unfortunate issue.
The non-alphabetical sort order occurred for me when setting up an application last year. We use the Race block on the application to gather information supplied by a family identified as Multiracial.
I understand your frustration. We want to deliver the control you and other schools need in this regard. Each area needs such control added individually. If there are any other settings that you need added, please let me know. I will reach out to you with my contact info.
This is yet another very frustrating gliche with BB!! We want to add "Decline to Answer" and of course it rises to the top and we want this to be the last option listed. Not having the ability to control settings is not what was advertised to use by the sales team. Get on this BB!!!
Hi William, I am the Product Manager for K12 Core where the Race settings live. I can confirm that the Core>Users>User Profile Settings>Race Types does not allow sorting at the moment. However, when I edit a user's contact card>Citizenship/Resident>Race the races are in the order in which they were added to the Race Types Table. Could you clarify where you observed the races displaying in an order other than that?
The Race list REALLY needs to be fixed asap. Alphabetize the races, please. Also, why is "other" in the middle of the list? For any Blackbaud folks who might want to fix this, this is the checkbox list that is on the application under Race. I'm aware I can just use the Ethnicity option and call it Race, but that does not fix the problem. Hoping this can be resolved soon!
Janet, in Core > Users > User Profile Settings > Race Types there is no way to change the order of the list. The order that appears in this Race Types settings page is the order that appears on the checkbox list on the application form. If schools cannot change the order, then the default display should be alphabetical.
Agreed. The options should be listed alphabetically. Also, if you edit the label for a pre-configured race or if you Add a New Race, those newly added or edited races rise to the top of the list, making the list order even more wacky.
Thanks for the idea. That was definitely an oversight. I agree it should be alphabetical. Where are you seeing this, on the user contact card where they can set their own values? The Core profile? Candidate application?

TO ALEX
Other settings - you should be able to add a standard format for phone numbers.
Alex, I am reading your reply. Does this mean you are updating the sort option for Race? If so, when will this change happen?

Adding my vote in hopes of being able to adjust the Race types sort order asap.

I noticed it when setting up the new application for this year.
