On the current Profile Publish Options screen there is a global setting to determine if users can remove themselves from the Directory. We typically select yes because we want to respect Parents and Alums privacy needs. The problem is that Students also get the option to remove themselves from the Directory. This presents a security/safety issue where Faculty/Staff all of the sudden don't have access to Student contact information.
