Request from Lower School Parents & Teachers

Hi WH team,

OnCampus is a great tool for the classroom. But let's face it - Kindergarten through Fourth Grade is different then Middle and Upper School. Their needs are much more focused around visual content, especially photos.

For example, a Kindergarten teacher posts hundreds of photos and videos a year. She may also have several news stories, announcements, and maybe a topic or two. By far, photos and videos on the bulletin board are the main focus of their pages.

Yes, there is something to the idea of not sending a notification for everything, creating an incentive to log in. However, what we've noticed is that this backfires with our Lower School parents. The majority of the time, they want to see photos of their daughter, but they forget to login to check. This creates a cycle where they just don't log in, and the teachers feel as though their hard work isn't being acknowledged.

A notification for photos and videos on the bulletin board would go a long way to support our Lower School teachers and parents!

Hi Liz,

Thanks for the helpful session on Hamlinet at orientation.  I followed your instructions for setting up notifications.  However this evening I realized that our kindergarten teacher (Dutton) has been posting lots of videos on her class page and I wasn’t alerted to any of them.  Is there some other way to set up notifications for when these are posted?  For kindergarten this is some of the most relevant “information” being shared with us.  Had the same issue for a photo album posted in 3^rd grade – no notification of that either.
