We treat our current middle school students as candidates for our high school. We are doubling down on marketing and recruitment efforts to increase retention from 8th to 9th grade. We have created an enrollment record for them, just as we would a prospect from outside of our school system. However, we cannot use official notes for these current students in enrollment management. In order to properly market to them, communicate with them, and track pertinent recruitment efforts, having official notes capability would be invaluable to the Admissions & Recruitment office.
Our enrollment and reenrollment fall under the same people, so why can they not use the same communication for everyone? This is a must and very frustrating!
I want to be able to add an "offical note" after the candidate has been accepted as a student. It sounds like the same request made by Jean Bergeson in Dec 2019 and also stated in other requests since 2015, which show as "implemented". However, I just spent a 1/2 hour in chat with a Blackbaud specialist that finally informed me it was not doable once the candidate was enrolled and referred me to this suggestion page.
We use official notes to track communication done outside of the system (for internal admissions viewing) and also for our admission committee notes (for internal admission viewing only). Because of the pace we are moving, adding pertineant communication and notes are sometimes "cleaned-up" after the student is accepted in order to "close out the file" from the admissions standpoint. Right now we are losing this information and/or tracking it in a different document (which does not seem to be the point for having one system to house this information--a system which we really like in general by the way) as there is no way to add it. In reading the other notes, It looks as though this capability has been asked for since 2015. Thank you for considering adding this capability or if implemented, explaining to the Blackbaud specialists how to do it, so they are able to explain to us.
