Option to not send reminder notifications to items marked as submitted

Generally, it would be great if there was a setting to allow for different reminder scenarios. Our particular use case is this: when we have a file upload coming due, we get hundreds of submissions just before the deadline. There is no way for us to process those in real time, so reminders are sent to parents who have already submitted a file, but we haven't been able to review it. They then reach out to confirm we received the file, and ti takes us even longer to get through everything. Our options are essentially to not send reminders, or include some language that parents may or may not read. It would be nice if we could adjust if a reminder should go out based on the checklist status. Thank you!

It's very important that the correct messaging goes out to our families when they receive any type of notification. In this particular case it would be very helpful if families only receive this notification if they haven't submitted. When a notification is sent to everyone even if they already submitted, the families second guess and panic and start calling and emailing our office. With the amount of applicants we have each year this can become very time consuming.

When families receive this notification after they have already submitted, the go into panic mode, especially when nearing due dates. We have received so many emails flooding our inboxes about documents perceived to be not received by us even though it's in the queue waiting to be processed. Please consider a fix for this issue as we have another due date approaching and we do not want to receive more emails from families worried about their documents.

We have about 1,800 applicants every year and each applicant has several documents to upload or complete. This is the first year we decided to use checklist reminders. Right now we have 999 documents waiting for our review, but many parents received the checklist reminders despite already uploading their documents. It would be a life saver if the reminders could go out only if the document associated with the checklist step was not yet uploaded by the parent, thus parents would not be contacting us to ask why they are getting the reminder.
