Address Block Salutation in Decision Text

Please include placeholders for the household salutation, formal salutation, and informal salutation from the address block to the decision text.

As an Admissions Manager, I would like the ability to personalize decision communications by including the names of parents or guardians. This enhancement will help foster a more respectful and engaging tone in our correspondence with families.

Yes, I see those options and have tried adding Address formal, Address informal and Address Household Addressee on my decision letters and NONE of them populate. Not to mention, if I am to go by the same terminology as mentioned in Mail Merge, "Address Formal Salutation" means:

    Mr. & Mrs. John Smith

    1234 Main Street

    Whatever town, CA zip

But it doesn't populate. Not to mention, I would like to see just "household informal salutation" as an placeholder option, which it does not have. I was told this has not yet been implemented. It doesn't work.

The Merge button in the Decision text area has 3 options (at the bottom of the list) for formal, informal and household.

Is this where you are seeking them to be?

It says implemented but I do not see this as a placeholder in Decision text. Only in Mail Merge. I contacted Blackbaud Support today (3/16/26) and was told it isn't available. There is no way to personalize the decision letter to include a household informal salutation (parent names) of a candidate.
