Find a way to mark a current student as a candidate as well.

We have a Family Center for pre school children ages 6 weeks thru 3 years.  Acceptance to our school (4K-8) is not guaranteed to them.  They are require to apply and go thru an assessment and could be rejected.  Currently On Board gives them a second identity as a candidate.  Come next summer when we promote the ones accepted from the Family Center, I will have to remember to delete the duplicate "candidate" ones.  Not good to rely on memory to do this!  We probably should have set up the FC as a separate school somehow but no one mentioned that.  I'm sure other schools who have elementary and also HS might have this issue.

I was able to test this and it does appear that this functionality is in place. There is one caveat... you cannot enter the child's data in the backend; it must come through via an application form to the first program. Otherwise, the child does not have a previous "Candidate" status and will not appear when the parent selects "Apply for another child."

Hi Kristin, this exists. Students/parents can use the re-apply option to hold both the candidate and student role at the same time.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

Seven years and not much movement on this idea. Hopefully, we can get more schools on-board voting up this concept. It's causes a lot of manual work (with the possibility for error) for our staff to maintain the records when we can't use all of the automatic system features.

We have some 8th graders taking a course through one of our high school teachers.  We need to be able to allow them to apply to come to our high school, but they are currently a current student for the purpose of the course they are taking and can not be entered as an applicant without creating a new record for them.

This would be great!! The work around we are doing this year is to create an activity group and when the family completes their intent school form for the following year letting us know that their child will apply to our Junior K program, we will then add the student to the activity group, so that Admissions can communicate easily via the roster with families. In group page access you will delete the access for every role accept activity leaders, so that the parents do not see the activity group show up.
