Ability to enroll a student in class as an “audit” – not showing in roster, grade book, or on student’s report card.

Students sometimes want the ability to view and use course materials but not actually take the course. The ability to enroll a student in class as an “audit” – not showing in roster, grade book, attendance, or on student’s report card. would facilitate this.

I'd like the option to have the student on the roster and to print on report card. Simply listing the class on the student report cards with (A) beside the name of the course like a the (W) for a withdraw is sufficient. Having the option of No grades for this enrollment type would be better.

I've used the workaround Susan Morgan mentioned and will probably go back to it since we don't have the option of No grades for this enrollment type. Not a smooth way to do it but does work.

We want the course to show on the student's schedule, and to be able to take attendance, but we don't necessarily want it to show up on the transcript.

We have found that we need to create a separate course for the audit situation. In our case, we would want this course to show on the report card and transcript to show progress. We don't know how to resolve the GPA calculation discrepancy.
