Email notification when a student submits an assignment late Merged

If there is a student making up late work that involves uploading a file, the teacher does not know when the work is made up. The only way for the teacher to know that the assignment has been made up is if the student notifies the teacher or if the teacher is searching the assignments for it.

A simple email notification "STUDENT has submitted work for ASSIGNMENT NAME" would be really beneficial.

    Even having a banner announcement or something similar to official notes would be helpful just to direct teacher attention that something requires their attention.

    Today is our first day back after spring break and many students are making up assignments that they missed during our last week of classes (2 weeks ago). How great this would be if I was being notified of late submissions!
    Hopefully I can go through and find all of the late submissions or the students let me know....
